With its new robust interactive teen website, PTM is empowering high-schoolers to take a stand against negative peer pressure and make healthy choices, in an overall effort to reduce initiation of tobacco use among youth. UnleashYourC.com is designed to provide an engaging and informative environment exclusively for teens to learn about the power of personal choice and how these choices affect their lives, their friends and family, and ultimately the world around them.

Choice is Universal

All teens, regardless of gender, geographic location, ethnicity, sexual orientation, income or age, make choices. The ability to make one’s own choices was chosen as a theme because of its relevance to all teens. Tension exists when teens want to be in control of their choices, but have not yet been exposed to the experiences, education and skills required to take this control. Since teens are impulsive by nature, focusing on the choices they need to make to become who they want to be is an empowering and inspirational message.

The Freakster Tour

The Freakster tour is traveling around the state to visit locations frequented by teens to provide one-on-one engagement and to spread awareness of the unique Unleash Your C message. The Freakster staff will spark conversations with teens about making positive choices, get them excited about unleashyourc.com, and encourage them to interact with the Unleash Your C staff across social networking sites. If a teen is using tobacco, they will be encouraged to call the new HelpLine number for teens: 1-800-NEW-CHOICE.
